Student of the Month

How proud we are of Maddie! She was selected to be Student of the Month for her class. She is in a class of 5 hearing impaired and approximately 12 hearing kids. I don't know who had the bigger smile...Maddie or her brothers!!

Her teacher wrote:

"I am proud to nominate Maddie as our Student of the Month. Maddie came to the United States from China in February 2008. She started school for the first time at G.A. Treakle Elementary in late December 2008. Maddie has made wonderful progress during the short time she has been with us. She has learned to count to 20, sign and recognize her letters of the alphabet, communicate with others, and work independently while learning to read beginner books. Maddie makes friends easily and gets along well with everyone. She communicates with her hands, fingers, and facial expressions. Maddie is an exceptional child and a joy to have in our classroom. Keep up the great work Maddie!"
